Kindergarten - Purchased Items - NSPA Homeschooling Hub

Here are some items that i bought (or thought would be good to buy) to prepare for the Kindergarten school year when using the My Father's World 'God's Creation From A to Z'

Something i did was make a school wish list on Amazon and when family would ask me what my kids wanted for birthdays or Christmas i would include some of my school wishes along with gift ideas. I also told them if they didn't want to buy it as a gift for the kids then by all means think of it as a gift for me Christmas because i love getting school items! We have been blessed with some awesome gifts for the kiddos learning that way :)

	Rand McNally M Series World Wall Map: Laminated Amazon $14.20 This is a very nice, big, map. The kids have really enjoyed learning where the different animals live from looking at this map. I also purchased the round globe that came with the curriculum but I also wanted a big version for my class room.
	Universal Economy Sheet Protectors Economy Letter 200/Box, UNV-21127 Amazon $12.18 I used these in my teachers binder. I also made book where the kids did the daily number, tally, weather ect and I used these protective sheets so the kids could use dry erase markers and could be wiped off. I use these for lots of things now but that was my basic need for buying them for the Kindergarten school year.
	Post-it Notes, 1.5 in x 2 in, Assorted Ultra Colors, 12 Pads/Pack (653-AU) Amazon $6.68 Uses for these are self explanatory but let me caution you, hide these from the little hands or you will end up with them EVERYWHERE lol
	Didax Dd-210829 Tactile Sandpaper Lowercase Letters Amazon $13.13 These I absolutely LOVE! They are very good quality. They have went through two kids so far for a couple years and show no sign of wear. Now grant it my kids might not be a rough as yours ;) but they are really good quality. I only bought the lower case letters but it would really be nice to have the capitals and the numbers. I hope to get them before my next kiddo is doing preschool.
	6.5" 50 pcs Boba Drinking Straws Party Smoothies Cocktail Milk Shakes Tea Bubble Jumbo Fat Giant Amazon $4.20 (I bought two sets) I bought these giant straws for our daily counting cups which the curriculum has you do. I though the bigger bright colored straws would be more fun! Also everywhere I looked locally to buy straws they only sold those bendy straws, which I knew would not work!
	Learning Resources Plastic Pattern Blocks 1cm (Set of 250) Amazon $18.81 I opted to buy these on Amazon rather then through My Father’s World simply because it was cheaper at the time. It might not be cheaper anymore since prices do fluctuate so you might want to do some checking. These shapes are very nice and there is so many in this pack that we never use them all!
	Teacher Created Resources School Calendar Bulletin Board, Polka Dot (4188) Amazon $16.24 A really cute calendar for our school room for them to learn from.
	3/4" 20mm Self Adhesive Coin Type Hook and Loop Sticky Tape Dots Black [250 Pcs (125 Set)] Amazon $6.25 I bought these to go with the calendar so I could ad a remove the day cards easily. You could use tacks if you had a cork board for it but I didn’t.
	School Smart Plastic Dough Tools - Set of 5 - Assorted Colors Amazon $8.62 Fun for play dough time!
	Paper Clips-Giant Vinyl Coated-Assorted Colors 40/Pk Amazon $4.11 I use these a lot for various things including marking off the days of the week on the calendar. Now that we are into First Grade and I use them to sort out all our paper work for the day I had to buy another set. Wal-Mart might have them cheaper now, this last pack I bought I bought at Wal-Mart.
	Melissa & Doug Deluxe Band Set Amazon $39.99 Boy do my kids love these! We mainly used these on day 6 in the Kindergarten curriculum.
	Melissa & Doug Deluxe Standing Easel Amazon $53.98 We were blessed and got this as a gift. It is not a ‘have to item’ that is for sure but they kids LOVE it!
	Carson Dellosa Numbers 1-100 Chart (114070) Amazon $2.49 I love putting bright learning posters up on my wall. About mid way into the kindergarten year with my second child she started using this poster, on her own, to learn to count to 100. But if you want to be savy, I would keep my eye out at Dollar Tree. Lots of times I find nice bright posters there in there paper section. I bought the days of the week and months of the year posters from there. Sometimes you can hit the jack pot and find some awesome finds for the class room!
	Painless Learning Solar System Placemat Amazon $6 I LOVE these learning placemats! We have the solar system, rocks, insects and weather mats so far but there is so many more I would love to have! I recommend going on Amazon and looking at all the different ones they have. On Creation, Mm Moon and Ss Sun weeks I kept this at my daughters place at the school table. She loved looking at it and trying to learn which planets came first after the sun ect.
