Anabel loves to trace and as you can see, she is very good at it. When it got to the part where she was to write the letter herself with no lines to follow she froze. She said she couldn’t do it and i had to over and over again reassure her that i knew she could! First we put the page in her dry erase sleeve so she could practice. She did the whole page beautifully. Then i took the page out and had her use a pencil and she froze. She had such a hard time, and i think it was her being worried she would mess up. When she would mess up and i would erase it and have her try again she had a hard time not following the faint line from the one i erased and kept following her mess up and not writing the letter correctly. This was very trying for me since she had just did a perfect job on the dry erase board. Finally i got her to form some Ss on her own but they were not near as nice and neat as when on the dry erase sleeve.
Something that seemed to help was for her to pause after she was messing up and have use the textile (sandpaper) S and use her finger to go over the S in the correct way. This seem to help her them write it better on the page. It’s a good start but it’s hard for me because i had just seen her do a way better job. Oh well, i know she can do it almost perfectly, there is just something there that is holding her back when using a pencil.
After she did it i made a huge deal out of how good she did because she needed it and we bother needed some positive vibes after the little frustration there.
The the sound discrimination page. X for pictures that do not start with Ss and O for the ones that do. Might be hard to see in the pic but she got everyone right.

Both girls helped in the scavenger hunt and i had to give them some ideas. Thing is the container are: Stethoscope, Swing, Sack, Seat, Shoe and Sock.
And here is a glimpse of Anabel’s assignment sheet that she has been doing:
I decided that for right now she could use the dot markers to fill in out with and so far both girls are finding it very fun to keep track of what they are working on.
