Mm Moon Day 1
Anabel:
Facts learned about the Moon:- Bright MoonThe Moon looks like a switch is turned on at night and lights up like a light bulb, but that isn't really what happens. The Moon lights up because it reflects the light from the sun, the side of the Moon that is bright is facing the sun and the side of the Moon that is dark is away from the Sun.
- Moon Circles the EarthIt takes the Moon approximately 27 days to go all the way around the Earth or sometimes another word used for going all the way around the Earth is called: "orbiting."
- Moon is BumpyThe Moon surface has craters, valleys and mountains so it is very bumpy. You would need to be very careful riding your bike on the moon.
- The side that we can see from Earth is called the near side while the other side is called the far side
- The Moon is not a light source, it does not make its own light.
- The moon reflects light from the sun.
- We can see the Moon because light from the Sun bounces off it back to the Earth.
- If the Sun wasn't there, we wouldn't be able to see the Moon.
- The Sun always lights up (illuminates) one side of the Moon.
- The Moon appears to change shape but what we are actually seeing is the Moon lit up by the light from the Sun in different ways on different days.

So proud how she is learning to write letters/words! The bottom ‘eleven’ is what she wrote on her by looking at the ‘eleven’ i wrote in the small middle box. Way to go Anabel!
I took a Styrofoam ball and cut it in half so both girls would have a side and also so it would lay flat and we could glue it to a background.
